I have been working on completing my ork army for 40K 6th Edition. I finished 90 boyz a few weeks ago. I did what I could to keep the task from becoming unbearable. I painted up the boyz in groups of five, paying more attention to the Nobz in the mobs as befitting their status. I'm posting several pictures of my mobz, but I only included a hand full of miniatures in each.
I was inspired by the 'Ard Boyz from the Space Marine video game, so I made some of my own. I used some green stuff to make their chest armor. The advice for anyone up for the sculpting is to do it in steps. The first layer is made by roughly molding green stuff over the miniature and then sculpting it into place. Wait until the first layer drys before you put on the second layer. Once the first layer is dry, put a second layer of green stuff and sculpt the teeth.
I also added some shields to my 'Ard Boyz. I used some ork boarding plank bits to make the shields. I added the shields to the 'Ard Boyz back by first placing some Gorilla Glue (crazy glue) on my miniatures, then adding some green stuff over the crazy glue, and finally adding more crazy glue on top of the green stuff. The shields adhered to the crazy glue, while the the green stuff fills in the gaps between the shield and the miniatures body.
